The biggest lies of Christianity
Sajid is hunched over in front of the computer, writing something very carefully. I don’t know what he is writing. But what he is writing is written very carefully and carefully. It is understandable. It seems to be something very serious.
I asked – What are you writing?
I am sending an email.
‘Email? To whom?’
‘To David.
‘To David? Should I tell him to come visit?’
Sajid opened the email sent by David in front of me without saying anything. It is necessary to talk about David first. David is Sajid’s foreign friend. The two of them first met in Atlanta, USA. Sajid once went to a science fair there with his father. At that time, Sajid had just enrolled in university. At the science fair, David and his friends displayed an incredible device. The device was very much like a drone. When David was about to turn it on while displaying the device, it would not turn on at all. Despite many attempts, David and his team were unable to turn it on. Then Sajid looked at David and said- Can I help you?’
David looked at Sajid for a while. Then he said- Sure’
Sajid had done some work in pieces. David, his team, Sajid’s father and many people who came to see the exhibition were looking at Sajid’s work. After finishing the work, Sajid said- Try now.
David was still looking at Sajid with a confused look on his face. Sajid said again- Hello, you can try now, dear.
David said again with a confused look on his face- “Sure’Now David’s device started. Vo: Vo. It made a sound. It flew into the sky in the blink of an eye. David had a remote in his hand. Remote. By pressing the direction, the device was being lowered up and down. It was being moved from side to side. David turned to Sajid and extended his hand and said – Hi, I’m David, David Anderson, you? ‘
Sajid smiled and said – I’m Sajid.
‘From?”
‘Bangladesh’
‘Great! Can we be friends, Sajid?
Sajid said with a smile-Sure, why not? Since then, the two have been friends. David had already visited Bangladesh once for two weeks. Before he went, he had learned a Bengali sentence with great difficulty. The sentence was-‘I love you.’
English speakers cannot pronounce the Bengali ‘t’ correctly. They pronounce ‘t’ as “t”. At that time, David was saying the sentence ‘I love you’ like this-Ammi Tomake Balo-basi. We were having fun listening to it. I read David’s email. The email said-
“Hi Sajid,
It has been a while since we last spoke. I hope you are well. I have been good. I am writing this letter to you because I would like to discuss something. I am a devoted Christian and I respect my religion. I am sure you can relate. A few days back, I met with some of were atheists. I was not bothered by the my friends, all of whon fact that they did not believe in God or Jesus, but something they said
hurt me immensely. They said that Jesus was a creation of Egyptia mythology and he had never existed. I remember you telling me that Islam also honors Jesus and respects him as one of the Prophets. I was wondering, could you send me some accounts of Jesus Christ existence from sonme (Non-Christians and Non-Muslims) credible sources that will provide evidence that Jesus really did exist in history? You would be happy to learn that I have become more fluent in Bangla now; one of my classmates has been helping me out with it. I am eagerly waiting for your reply
Your
David
I was also surprised to read David’s email. What a neat hand he wrote in Bengali.
Sajid said – I am emailing him about this.
Sajid’s email is finished. But I was also very eager to see the email. So I told Sajid – Stand back a little. I will see.’
What will you see?’ Sajid wanted to know.
Why? What you have written.
Why will you see?’
I said sarcastically – Sir, your writing is very crude. The spelling you write, even David, who has just learned Bengali, will die laughing. So as your friend, it is my duty to proofread the writing. I cannot accept that someone in faraway America will laugh at my dear friend’s misspelling. I said in a rather sad, tearful voice.
Sajid looked at me, frowned and got up. I sat down in his chair and read. Then the writing. I did. I started reading just as he wrote in the open.
David,
Today is the first time I am writing to you in Bengali. I never dreamed that I would ever write to you in Bengali. You have learned Bengali, this is really big for me. Surprise. Really, I am proud of you dear.
However, your interest in religion has once again fascinated me, friend. You asked me about Jesus (who is known as Isa (peace be upon him) in our religion). You asked me about the historical truth of his existence. As one of the prophets not only of your religion but also of my religion, I should also clarify this matter.
But before that, let me tell you two things about my religious beliefs.
Your religious beliefs about him are-
One: Jesus Christ is the Son of God and he himself is one of the three Gods.
Two: He was crucified by the Jews and he rose from the dead.
My religious beliefs are completely opposite to your two beliefs. My religious beliefs are-
One: He is not the son of God. God neither has a son, nor has anyone begotten God.
Two: He was not crucified at all. Whenever a Jew entered his house to crucify him, Allah, by His power, raised him to the fourth heaven and the man who entered the house to crucify him, Allah made that man look exactly like Jesus (PBUH). As a result, the Jews who came to kill him were confused and thought that their man was Jesus (PBUH) and crucified him. So Jesus (PBUH) was not crucified.
This is the testimony of our Quran; and this is our belief. However, if you want to tell me about the historical authenticity of Jesus Christ, I mean Jesus (PBUH), from non-Christian sources, I must also bring up the matter of his crucification. That is, going beyond my belief in some
In some cases, in line with your and the Jewish beliefs, I have to show that Jesus Christ was crucified. I will do this only to determine the historical truth of his existence. Please know that this is not my belief.
Now let’s get to the point. Even going beyond Islamic and Christian sources, the existence of Jesus (PBUH) can be determined.
Since the birth of Jesus (PBUH), the time of the calendar year is calculated under a new name. The time before his birth is considered as ‘B.C.”. B.c” means ‘Before Christ’. The time before his birth was considered as Before Christ‘. After his birth, ‘Before Christ’ or ‘B.C” was replaced by either ‘A.D’ or ‘Anno Domini’. These two words ‘Anno Domini’ come from ‘Medieval Latin’ which means – In the time of our Lord “. Its simple Bengali.
is from the time of Jesus (PBUH). That is, the time since his birth is considered to be In the time of our Lord or according to Medieval Latin’ A.D’.
Now we have to see if there is any source from the beginning of this A.D’ time scale that can give us any indication about the existence of Jesus (PBUH)? Yes, there is an indication.
From history we can know about the Roman Emperor Nero. Nero. was the fifth Roman Emperor. His reign lasted from 54 A.D’ to 68 ‘A.D’. So it is understood that he was the emperor of the Roman Empire between the years 54-68 of the birth of Jesus. During his time, a terrible fire broke out in the city of Rome. This fire caused a lot of damage to the city of Rome. The news of this fire is famous in history. At that time, Christianity was in its infancy and Rome was inhabited by Jews. However, it is known that some Christians lived in Rome in scattered conditions. Although Christians were very few in Rome at that time, the Jews were fully aware of them. That is, the Jews were aware of which god the Christians worshipped, where their religion had its origin, how it originated, etc. The Romans blamed Emperor Nero for the historic fire in Rome. But Emperor Nero, instead of taking the blame himself, placed the blame on the minority Christians in Rome.
Senator Tacitus was a famous historian during the reign of Emperor Nero. In his most successful book ‘Annals’, he depicts this fire and the accusations against Nero as follows-
Nero fastened the guilt.. on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of.. Pontius Pilatus.
Tacitus made this comment within 50 years of Jesus Christ and he clearly states three things here-
One: Nero blamed some people who were known as ‘Christians’.
Two: The name ‘Christian’ comes from a man named ‘Christus’. ‘Christus’ is a Latin word meaning ‘Christ’.
Three: This man named Christ was executed by ‘Extrme Penalty’ or crucifixion.
Four: This man was crucified during the reign of Emperor Tiberius which matches the birth year of Jesus Christ mentioned in the Bible.
Tacitus was not a Christian. He was a Jew. In his historical book, he alludes to Jesus (PBUH) and the religion that was popularized in his name while describing the fire during the reign of the Roman Emperor Nero. From here, we can clearly say that Jesus (PBUH) is not a Mythical Figure, he is a Historical Figure.
Christian historian ‘Edwin Yamauchi’ has mentioned this quote by Tacitus as the most acceptable, reliable non-Christian source about the existence of Jesus Christ. He says this way – Probably the most important reference to Jesus outside the New Testaments.
The existence of Jesus Christ is known from the time of another Roman emperor. He is Pliny the Younger. Present-day Turkey was then under the Roman Empire. Pliny the Younger was governing the kingdom there (present-day Turkey).
The time was 112 AD. At that time, the main Roman emperor was Emperor Trajan. Emperor Pliny wrote a letter to Emperor Trajan. In that letter, there is a mention of Christians and Jesus Christ. In the letter, he wrote
They were in the habit of meeting on a certain fixed day before it was light, when they sang in alternate verses a hymn to Christ, as to a god, and bound themselves by a solemn oath, not to any wicked deeds, but never to commit any fraud, theft or adultery, never to falsify their word, nor deny a trust when they should be called upon to deliver it upafte which it was their custom to and reassemble to separate, then partake of food—but food of an ordinary and innocent kind.
Some clear ideas are available about Christians from Pliny’s letter.
First: Christians used to meet for prayer on a certain day.
Second: It is noteworthy that they are said to pray to a person named Christ. Who is indicated as “As to God”. From this it is clear that Christ was someone
who was both human and God (since Christians considered Jesus to be God).
From this letter of Pliny we can learn about the existence of Jesus Christ around 112 A.D., which was written within 100 years of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Moreover, in the first century AD, a Jew named Josephus wrote a book called Jewish Antiquities about Jesus Christ.
He wrote in his book ‘Jewish Antiquities’-About this time, there lived Jessus, a wise man.
In the second century AD, a Christian critic named Lucian, who was a Jew, criticized Christians by writing-
The Christians… worship a man to this day=the distinguished personage who introduced their novel rites, and was crucified on that account. [It] was impressed on them by their original lawgiver that they are all brothers, from the moment that they are converted, and deny the gods of Greece, and worship the crucified sage, and live after his laws.
Lucian clearly states that Christians consider someone to be God who has captivated them with some great words and then been blinded. From here we can learn about the existence of Jesus Christ (PBUH) since the first century AD. This is enough to prove that he is not a ‘mythical’ figure – but a historical’ figure. Those who say that Jesus (PBUH) is a ‘Mythical Figure’ have no evidence to support their claim except some gossip.
Oh yes, David, those who told you that Jesus is a ‘Mythical Figure’, I mean your atheist friends, they believe the words of the most talked about atheist of today, Richard Dawkins, as if they were a prophecy, don’t they?
Do you know what’s funny? This Richard Dawkins also admitted in a debate with John Lennox that Jesus Christ was a historical figure. He said – I think, Jessus existed’
I think, this arrogance of Richard Dawkins is enough to answer the atheists about the existence of Jesus, or Jesus (PBUH).
Write to me regularly. And you also come to visit again. Yes, congratulations again to you for learning Bengali, my friend. Be well.
Your dear
Sajid
I read the entire mail. Sajid has already finished his bath. He came next to me and said: What, are you going to visit America?’
I looked at him for a while, fascinated. He said: ‘What’s wrong with you?’
I asked him in a daze, do you still call David ‘you’ or ‘Tom’?’
Sajid laughed out loud. It’s been a long time since I saw him laugh like this.
